Principle: An amplitude-modulated wave is a modulation method in which the amplitude of the carrier wave changes with the amplitude of the modulating audio. Since only one sideband is transmitted, the bandwidth it occupies is less than half of that of a conventional amplitude-modulated signal, and more signals can be accommodated under limited spectrum resources. It saves power by concentrating the power on one sideband, improving the utilization rate of the transmitting power. It enhances confidentiality. The single sideband transmitter does not send the carrier frequency, and the signal is less likely to be intercepted and cracked.
